FAQ
Here are answers to the most common questions about Victoria Workshops. Have a specific question? Email [email protected] anytime. For our complete 110-workshop course catalogue, visit the Complete Course Catalogue.
Victoria Workshops is a creative and professional development hub based in Greater Victoria. I host signature workshops on confidence, photography, fashion psychology, and branding—and I also feature select partner workshops from local facilitators on our shared calendar.
Three main groups: Professionals and entrepreneurs who want stronger personal branding, better LinkedIn presence, and more confidence on camera. Creatives (photographers, artists, stylists, content creators) who want to deepen their visual style and storytelling. Personal growth seekers drawn to body image healing, self-confidence, and using photography as a tool for self-reflection and self-care. If you're curious, introspective, and open to learning in a supportive environment, you'll fit right in.
No. Many workshops are designed for beginners and non-photographers, and several can be done entirely with a smartphone (iPhone/Android). Some advanced classes will be labeled for photographers or creatives, but each workshop description clearly states whether it's beginner-friendly, if you need a DSLR/mirrorless camera, or if a phone is perfect.
No. While my background includes mental health, therapeutic photography, and confidence coaching, Victoria Workshops are educational and experiential, not formal counselling. We explore topics like self-image, body confidence, stress, and burnout through creative exercises, group discussion, and photography-based activities, but they are not a substitute for individualized mental health treatment. If you're looking for one-to-one therapeutic support, you're always welcome to reach out and I can share more about my separate services.
Most sessions are held in Victoria and the surrounding area (downtown Victoria, Saanich, Westshore), with occasional pop-up locations depending on the theme (studio spaces, coworking venues, boutique hotels, outdoor locations). Each workshop listing will include exact location, parking/transit info, and any special notes (e.g., outdoor clothing, indoor shoes). We also run online and hybrid options for some workshops and mentorship sessions.
Absolutely. Many of the Professionals & Entrepreneurs and Personal Development workshops can be customized for corporate teams, non-profits, schools and post-secondary programs, leadership groups, and women's networks or professional associations. We can tailor the session length (lunch-and-learn, half-day, full-day), examples, and exercises to match your workplace culture and goals. To inquire, email [email protected] with your organization, preferred dates, and what you'd like your team to walk away with.
